DISCOVERERS – Half Days Only

Camp for boys and girls ages 3 through 5 with age specific sporting and water activities and lots of hands on arts-and crafts activities.  Please send a change of clothes and a peanut free lunch each day. All campers in this group must be fully potty trained in order to participate.

EXPLORERS – Half Days OR Full Days

A faster moving day camp for ages 6 to 12 (must have completed kindergarten). This is truly an older kids’ day camp setting, with unique and challenging activities and field trip venues, including Six Flags, Hawaiian Falls, Sandy Lake, Group Dynamix and Rock Climbing. Please send a peanut free lunch, swimsuit, sunscreen and towel daily.

WEEKLY ACTIVITIES

Swimming, gymnastics, tumbling, dance, floor games, rock climbing and a weekly field trip to exciting locations in and around the Metroplex.  Arts and crafts based on weekly theme of the particular week. Contact our front office or Camp Director at 214-351-4489 for activities for a given week.

TIMES & DAYS

The regular camp hours are 9am-1pm for half days and 9am-4:30pm for full days.  We do permit early drop off between 8 and 9am and late pickup from 4:30pm to 6pm at an additional charge.  $5/daily

FIELD TRIPS

Big D Summer Day Camp campers, under the leadership of our field trip director, will spend a day exploring and enjoying a variety of the Metroplex’s most fun educational, cultural and recreational venues.  Camper will be transported on a 44 passenger “Transits” bus or our camp vans.  Both the bus and our vans are air conditioned.

 OUR CAMP STAFF

The real secret of the great camp experience is our great camp staff.   At DSG, we have developed experienced caring adults camp counselors who enjoy sharing their time and talents with each camper. Our counselors are also carefully screened, background checked and CPR and First Aid Certified.

June 9-13        It’s Zonkey Time

Start spreading the news…   It’s time to find out what is a “Zonkey?  Put on your shoes and let’s explore all of the Animal Kingdom with a special guest.   Explorers will explore the Dallas Zoo to see numerous exhibits on display, monorail ride, monkeys and reptiles.  Discovers will enjoy the petting zoo.

June 16-20      Wild Ride

Let’s have a thrilling good time.  This week Explorers will venture to Six Flags Over Texas on Tuesday (plan for a late pick up time) or Discovers will have some fun with sand and getting messy.  Let’s have some fun with some new adventures.

June 23-27      Gym Challenge

Let’s test our endurance, strength and competitiveness with a variety of games, sports and water activities.  Medals, ribbons and trophies will be awarded!  Explorers will be heading to Putt-Putt golf and games!

June 30- July 3           Nature Hunt             

Join us for a picnic at the park!  Don’t bring lunch on Wednesday because all campers will enjoy hot dogs, chips and a drink.  Explorers will be going to the Dallas Arboretum for some hiking and a backpack adventure.

July 7-11         Tri-Camp Olympix

Be the best campers in Dallas!  We will have a great time with our gyms in Frisco for our first annual Tri-Camp Cup Competition.  There will be wacky trikes, potato sack races, bungee runs and much, much more!  Let’s go DSG!

July 14-18       Water Week

Surfers wanted.  This week Explorers will journey to Hawaiian Falls Water Park.  If you love water, this is the place to be.  Discovers will enjoy water play, relay games and water balloons, and kids can bring their water guns.

July 21-25       Back In Time

We will travel back to the days of kings, queens, knights and royalty.  Explorers will travel to Medieval Times for a tour and picnic.   Discovers will dress up, have a stick horse race, and build a castle out of mats.

July 28- August 1       Extreme Sports

Let’s have a spotting good time.  This week our Explorers will venture to Group Dynamix in Carrollton for team building and large inflatable play.   The only rule is to HAVE FUN and don’t forget to bring your game face.

August 4-8      Survivor Island

Are you going to be a survivor of our challenges?  The Explorers will experience their own “fear factor” at Sandy Lake.  It’s a week filled with trials and challenges, determination and endurance, but it’s all for fun.  Get hyped!

August 11-15              Weird Science

It’s ALIVE!!!!  Let the scientist in you come out!  Camper will make volcanoes and see raisins jump!  Explorers will go to the Dallas World Aquarium and a special guest from High Tech will visit.

 August 18-22             End of Summer

Let’s end the summer with lots of fun with water.  We will head to the water park, play games and just get messy!

Additionally, We Offer Early Drop-Off at 8 a.m. and Late Pick-Up BY 6 p.m.

·       Supply Fee: $20.00 per camper. This is a one-time fee.

·       June 30 – July 3 Camp:  Subtract 15% off camp fee for the short week.

·       Explorers & Expeditioners for the week of June 16 – 20, please add $10.00 to cover Six Flags trip.

·       50% of camp fees are due at time of sign up, remainder balance due June 9th.
